Shannon County Jail is the county jail and lockup operated by the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office in Eminence. A person can leave that facility in several ways. Web directories disagree about local details, so the official contacts should be used and the physical counter confirmed before an in-person records visit. Under Missouri § 610.023, the custodian must act as soon as possible and by the end of the third business day. The former shannon-county.com domain now routes to unrelated material and must not be used as a county source.
This absence is not evidence that a record was destroyed. It means the public web page does not expose it. The Sheriff’s public Facebook channel shown below may add context through selective public-safety or arrest posts, but each item must be checked against the custodian and court record. South Central Correctional Center is a state prison in Licking, Texas County. It is not a Shannon County facility. A person sent there should be traced through MODOC, even if the original case or county jail booking began in Shannon County.

Shannon County is part of the 37th Judicial Circuit. Its court schedule explains when certain criminal matters are set, but it is not a jail release timetable. A judicial order may come before bond is posted, holds are cleared, and jail processing ends. Pair the court entry with the Sheriff’s release timestamp.
Historical Shannon Jail Property Return
Historical procedure: A 2014 Missouri State Auditor report described Shannon County practices from 2013. It said inmate cash and personal effects were recorded on an arrest-and-booking property receipt. Remaining cash was returned at release, and the person and officer signed the property-return section. The report also said the envelope was given to the person and the office did not retain a copy.
That audit is useful evidence of an earlier procedure only. It does not prove how Shannon County Jail handles property today. Current staff should be asked when property, money, identification, or medication is returned, what receipt is retained, and how a disputed or missing item is documented.
A current question should identify the booking and the item without assuming the old form remains in use. If the matter depends on a receipt, ask whether the Sheriff keeps another booking, inventory, cash, or release record that documents the transaction. Avoid treating the historical audit as a current release instruction.

ICE After Shannon County Jail Release
A Shannon County Jail “release to ICE” is a transfer. It does not mean return to the community. Ask the Sheriff for the transfer timestamp and receiving authority, then search ICE’s system with the correct identifier or biographical facts. The two records describe different stages of the same custody path.
The official ICE locator guidance says the Online Detainee Locator System includes current detainees and people released from ICE custody for about 60 days. After that period, a person may no longer appear. Exact-name errors, data delays, and exclusions can also produce no result.
Therefore, neither disappearance from a county view nor a later ICE no-result proves community release. If the locator does not resolve the question, the ICE Detention Reporting and Information Line is 1-888-351-4024, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern. Confirm the Sheriff transfer first, then ask ICE about the immigration-custody stage.
The BOP locator answers only federal prison custody, while ICE ODLS answers immigration detention. Neither replaces the Shannon County Jail booking and release record. The originating record remains essential when the public locator window has passed.
